Abstract

The hose is connected at one to the radial branch fixed in the aperture in the drum which rotates on bearings on the hollow shaft through the bore of which water from the mains or other source enter. The drum has side plates held together by a series of transverse tie rods over which the hose is wound. The stop valve is a threaded cylinder which is screwed into the threaded end of the bore opposite to the water inlet and when screwed in fully its extension blocks the series of radial openings connecting the bore with an annular chamber in the drum. The branch on the drum opens into the annular chamber. A toric joint seals the valve. The valve wheel (22) has a pin (23) which engages a bore in the drum parallel to the bore in the drum parallel to the bore in the shaft.
