Abstract

Appts is partic. intended for the softening and demineralisation of water and for the removal of undesirable colour or odour. It comprises brine reservoirs, a water treatment tank with the inlet for the untreated water and an outlet for the purified water, a treatment cartridge inside the body and a movable support for this cartridge, mounted on springs. The cartridge contains the ion exchange resins which contract as they become exhausted; the cartridge contracts in length and the relaxation in press. on the supporting plate starts the regeneration process. After a rinse, the resin again comes into operation and the flow of water to be treated is resumed. The regeneration is started simply by liq. press. and does not depend upon electrical or mechanical means.
