Abstract

Assembly technique for heat exchangers e.g. vehicles radiators, coolers etc. uses either spot welding or metal forming to locate side walls to assembled finned tube bundles. A single brazing operation then attaches the header by a water tight joint. Special perforations in the walls of the collecting box on the end of the tube bundle permit metal to flow through providing a superior joint with the side wall.
