Abstract

External coating for masonry made in powder form in the factory and needing only the addition of a specified amount of water, therefore avoiding the risks involved in making up on site. It can be applied by an conventional method, ensures good heat insulation, can be coloured to eliminate the need for painting once in place and can be applied to any type of surface. It has a low density because of the use of a mixture of light mineral aggregates and a composite binding material; the fact that a foam made from volcanic rock such as rhyolite is added to other heavier aggregates gives the coating durability necessary for external use. The cohesiveness of the coating is ensured by the use of a mixture of hydraulic binding materials and powdered polyvinyl acetate.
