Abstract
A building panel is made by applying a layer of foamed or foamable polystyrene to a layer of mineral material with a fibrous filler, one of the layers being in a non-set state, the other in the set state, and bonding the layers to each other by causing the layer of non-set material to set while in contact with the other layer. As applied to polystyrene the term "non-set state" refers to a non-foamed or partly foamed state, and "set state" to a fully foamed state. The mineral material may be cement, magnesite, waterglass or plaster, and the fibrous filler wood wool, wood shavings or the like. The panel may have a further coating on one or more sides of a mineral material such as plaster, light concrete or cellular concrete. The edges of the panel may have in the plaster layer tongues and grooves so that panels interlock.
