Abstract
In a device for transferring tubes from the outlet channel of a rolling mill to a cooling bed, the outlet channel is provided with rollers and pushers. The outlet channel consists of rolls on an inclined plane and guides which can be raised from their lowest position below the inclined plane of the rolls to a height above the centre of a tube with max. dia., where the guides are aligned with a chute possessing a slope which is steeper than the gradient of the roll plane; by the upwards and downwards oscillation of the guides the tubes are carried onto the cooling bed. The guides are pref. mounted on pivot arms. Transfer of tubes entering the outlet channel is at high speed, e.g. 10m/s and tubes with a square cross-section can also be transferred.
