Abstract

The gas blast circuit breaker has two partitioned chambers the first one containing the stationery contact and being coupled to the second one by a nozzle-like aperture. Through the latter extends the moving contact which in the made state reaches up to the stationary contact which is surrounded by an annular electrode with electric contact with the same for attracting the light arc, generated on breaking, as in 2339652. Within the first chamber (3) is formed at least one small secondary chamber (14), in which is mounted the stationary contact (8). The chamber (14) is connected with the chamber (3) by an aperture (13), through which moves the moving contact (9). Specified pressure conditions safeguard the switching.
