Abstract

The radar simulators variable delay circuit eliminates fixed echoes or simulates fixed or moving echoes. A delay line (3) is driven from an input signal through a power amplifier (2). It has a number of outputs (4, 5, 6) connected to low noise amplifiers (7, 8, 9). The final output is connected through a power amplifier (12) to a second delay line (11) whose outputs (13, 14, 15) are also connected to low noise amplifiers (16, 17, 18). The low noise amplifier outputs are connected to an electronic switch (10) controlled by a circuit (19) which permits the operator to select remotely a predetermined delay at the output (20) to simulate fixed echoes which can be transformed into moving echoes as required.
