Abstract

The filter tipped cigar designed for easy high speed manufacturing methods, has a filling of tobacco in the form of strands or pieces, enclosed inside a tube of reconstituted tobacco or of paper which is somewhat thicker than a cigarette paper, then a filter piece of the same diameter is attached by an outer sleeve or layer of material which covers the joint, the material being of type which does not stick to the lips of the smoker, and which does not burn easily. In a further design, the composite cigar, as above, is enclosed by a further wrapper, preferably of natural tobacco, which is wound on, covering the region of the joint between the filter tip and the tobacco, but leaving nearly all the tip exposed.
