Abstract
By manual and/or automatic means at least one auxiliary unit is connected to one of several central data processing units via an electronic switching unit. Only one input-output auxiliary unit is used for several central data processing units. The system has at least two central units or minicomputers each having a memory and a processor. An auxiliary unit may be a tape reader and a second auxiliary unit may be a tape perforator, and an electronic switching unit permits connection of the reader and perforator to anyone of the central processing units, the switching unit being placed between the auxiliary and central units.
