Abstract

The hollow cylindrical outlet fitting (16) has a shoulder (20) at its inner end, of diameter slightly smaller than that of the orifice in the container wall, is threaded (17) up to the shoulder, and has an annular groove (21) in the shoulder adjacent to the thread. A plastic cylindrical sleeve (23), deformed radially outwards at its midpoint (26), is fitted on the body and one end fitted in the shoulder groove. A nut (18) of outside diameter larger than that of the container orifice is screwed onto the body, the second end of the cylinder locating in a groove in this nut. The assembly is inserted through the orifice and the nut expands the cylinder inside the container to clamp the fitting in position.
