Abstract

The conveyor comprises an outer tubular casing (3) which has its top end closed. The lower end, when the conveyor is used for elevating material, is open. The screw flight (1) has a central shaft (2), one end of which passes through the top plate and is driven by a motor and belt (6, 7). The other end projects beyond the casing into the material, stored in bulk (4). The material passes up the rotating flight to be discharged at the top (8). The flight diameter is considerably smaller in diameter than the casing and is mounted eccentrically near to the base of the casing.
