Abstract

855,270. Screw conveyers; pneumatic conveyers. TAUPIN, A. April 16, 1959 [April 26, 1958; Feb. 27, 1959], No. 12916/59. Class 78 (1). A conveyer comprises a flexible casing 1 of rubber or plastic material and coaxial helices 2, 8 made from steel wire. The helices are of opposite hand and are rotated in opposite directions by an electric motor 3. The initial turns of the helix 2 are secured to the outside of an air inlet tube 4 which is mounted rotatably in the hopper 7. The end of the helix 8 is secured to a fan 5. More than two helices may be used. The inner surface of the casing may have a helix formed on it.
