Abstract

1,131,231. Discharging a container. H. BROWN. 4 March, 1966 [7 Dec., 1964], No. 49767/64. Heading B8E. A sweep screw 3 feeds material in container 1 into inlet 9 of discharge screw 2 which discharges at 12, as shown, at a point above the ground. To permit the screw 3 as it gyrates to raise and lower itself over screw 2, a ramp 10 is provided over which the screw 2 mounts. Additionally a ledge 4 is provided under which screw 2 may be lodged when stationary. Screw 2 is driven from motor 13 via chain 15. Screw 3 is driven from shaft 18 and clutch 26 by gearing 22, 21, 23, 24 and is caused to sweep, together with housing 7, when clutch 8 operates.
