Abstract

The pressure control valve is mounted between the hydraulic pump and the reservoir and regulates the maximum pressure of the reservoir. In order to prevent the pump from running continuously by having the output pressure of the pump the same as the reservoir pressure, and thus preventing the valve from closing, a differential valve element is provided. This has a larger area facing the reservoir pressure and is mounted in a stepped bore. A non-return valve element is incorporated. The arrangement is of use partic. for vehicle brakes.
