Abstract

1449143 Hydraulically-assisted steering mechanism CAM GEARS Ltd 21 May 1974 [31 May 1973] 25981/73 Heading B7H [Also in Divisions F1 and F2] A valve 10, Fig. 2, connected between an accumulator 5 and a number of services 15, 15A, 15B such as the braking, steering and selflevelling systems of a vehicle is displaced against a spring 11 by fluid-pressure from the accumulator or from a pump 2 supplying the accumulator so that it interrupts the supply to the least important services first as the pressure falls. The line 20 is omitted and a space 18 connected to a line 7 when the valve is operated by accumulator pressure. In Fig. 3, a spring strut 39 loads the valve which controls a service line 33. Leakage past the valve is returned by line 34 to the pump 2.
