Abstract

The method is for the manufacture of electrical connection systems in strip form, such as for cable junctions in communications equipment and electronics. The body of the connector has an elongated rectangular profile and is moulded in a thermoplastic material. The metal inserts in the moulding, intended to take the cables, are trapped and held by a metal to plastics bond created by shrink-fitting the body onto them. The inserts may be heated by a vibration induction, ultrasonic, means, or by direct thermal contact.
