Abstract

The seal can be made to accommodate a variety of cable sections, but is particularly useful for strip cables. A cylindrical hollow body has an internally screwed portion at one end and a conical section at the other one. The elastic sealing gland has a matching conical form outside and has a passage similar to the cable section down the centre. A hexagonal head screws into the body and forces a washer to compress the seal. On passing the cable through the head, seal, washer and body, the head when tightened compresses the seal against the body and around the cable. The seal described will accept a certain amount of variation in cable section.
