Abstract

The locking device locks the spinner of a hay making machine either in the tedding or swath turning position. The rods (2) carrying the tines pivot around joints of the drive hub. The locking device is integral with the hub, rotates with the spinner and consists of two rods (9 & 10) one above the other in a sleeve (8), each rod having a slot through which passes the spinner spindle. When transferring from the tedding to the swath turning position the two rods (9 & 10) slide radially in opposite directions. The rods have pairs of locking notches (16, 17, 18, 19) and (20, 21, 22, 23) on the edges. Sleeve (8) has two catches (24 & 25) which engage in these notches and a control handle by means of which the engagement of the catches is varied to correspond with the desired operation.
