Abstract

This contour enhancer for viewing images on a cathode-ray tube derices its signal from either a camera viewing a cardiographic screen, or a video recorder or a film projector and a camera. The CRT display scans ar split into adjustable quadrants. An edge, viewed on the camera, triggers a multivibrator so that a pulse is generated to provide a bright-upon the CRT display. The threshold level of this trigger is variable in each quadrant. In this way, during an examination the edges of the image may be enhanced at independent levels in each quadrant.
