Abstract

1508909 X-ray apparatus DYNAMIC TECHNOLOGY Ltd 20 July 1976 [21 July 1975] 30440/75 Heading H4F In an X-ray apparatus in which an X-ray source 10 is used to give an image on a fluorescent screen viewed by a television camera 12, the camera output signal is converted into digital form at 28, stored at 16 and when required for viewing is reconnected to analogue form at 26, mixed with synchronization pulses at 42 and displayed on a conventional television monitor. The apparatus is intended for use with a pulsed X-ray source giving an image of short duration on the fluorescent screen but permitting extended viewing on the television monitor. The fluorescent image is scanned slowly by the camera, e.g. a single frame over 0À5 seconds. A pulse code to differential pulse code converter 30 can be used to reduce the required capacity of store 16 which can be a dynamic metal oxide silicon random access store with a refresh circuit 32.
