Abstract

The dosage of small quantities of fine powder such as silicon is achieved without use of vibration or fluidisation. A cylindrical reservoir (1) with a loading trap door (2) contains blades (3) for raising the powder above the central axis of the reservoir. The reservoir is rotated on a hollow extension (5) to its longitudinal axis on two pulley wheels (4). A fixed semi-cylindrical pipe (6) passes through the reservoir along its axis and carries an endless chain (7) which is motor driven. As the reservoir rotates powder falls into the pipe and is moved to the outlet by the chain. chain movement prevents clogging of the powder.
