Abstract

A measuring tape case (1) comprises two parts, one of which (101) contains a circular rib (102) to receive the central part (116) of a drum (103). The other part of the case contains a circular opening (131) housing the drum plate (104) which has a central hollow (106) for the drive (105). Locking is provided by a segment shaped plate with a thin central part (138) corresponding to a flexible strip (111) on the drum and is held in place against the drum plate (104) by chips. The drum brake comprises a ring with ribs either side of a slot that fits on part (120) of the case (101) to be pressed against the central part (116) of the drum.
