Abstract

A nickel cutting foil produced by galvanoplastics for dry razors is provided with a coating of a metal which is harder than the substrate metal. The inner surface of the cutting foil has a fissure-free electro-deposited Cr layer 0.5-1.5 mu thick with hardness >=1000 HV. The hardness and the low coefft. of friction of the Cr reduce wear of the foil and continuously grind the edge of the knife-blade in use so longer razor life is obtd.
