Abstract

The nipples can be used with any type of fitting, such as T fittings, elbows, bends, four way crosses, etc. but is intended for use with water pipe installations using a standard gas thread. All fittings are in malleable cast iron, as are the nipples. In the case of a four way cross (1), the nipple (2) has a male gas thread fitting into a corresponding female thread (4) in the fitting. The nipple has a hexagon head and a flat top, this being drilled and tapped centrally (5) for an adaptor fitting to suit the installation, such as ISO (5, 6) or American (7, 8) threads etc.
