Abstract

A check valve normally closes the jet opening to prevent fuel from being injected when the jet is not vibrated. A piezo electric transformer is excited by an alternating current at ultrasonic frequency to produce ultra sonic fluctuations in a longitudinal direction in a cylindrical extension containing a radial boring for fuel delivery and terminating as an injector nozzle in the combustion air intake pipe. The injector nozzle contains a housing with a central boring for fuel and regulated by a free moving ball valve. A boring is provided opposite to the central boring, through which fuel at pressure, is able to act upon the ball when it is not being vibrated in order to seal off the jet opening.
