Abstract

Safety belt fastening is attached to vehicle door, pref. to the top rear portion of the window frame, and also to a non-moving part in the case of exceeding a given tensile force, e.g. a central column. While the door is closed, a lug of the fastening protrudes, without being fixed, into an opening between a two-part flange on the central column. The fastening pivots downward to engage the lug in the opening when the door of the vehicle is closed and the belt folds around the door to strap the passenger in.
