Abstract

A plastics spray bar for a dishwasher made from two half sheels, has a continuous external flange (16) around the mating edges with grooves (18) in the abutting faces to receive weld material burr, to conceal it for aesthetic purposes without liquid retaining crevices etc. The strip of joint surface (17) inside the groove (18) projects beyond the outer level (20) to form material for the weld material. The two half shells (11, 12) of injection moulded plastics can be butt welded i.e. by heating mating surfaces to fusion temperature and then joining them. Preferably each is partitioned (24) or studded.
