Abstract

In the air cooler system a liquid flows into an exchanger unit, by virtue of force of gravity, and there it is cooled in heat contact with a current of atmospheric air, and collected in a basin. In the latter the noise attenuator device is mounted above the level of the liquid, incorporating a group of elements, such as parallel plates, or curved shapes, or sets of corrugated or flat foils, with one or more surfaces angled relative to the direction of fall of the liquid droplets so that these are much less likely to rebound. The elements may also be polyhedral or conical in shape.
