Abstract

The joint is made around a central axle (4) which joins the two halves of the joint (1) and (2). The central part of the joint is flanked by a ring (9) on either side. Each ring is fitted with concentric grooves (19). Oil injected through a spring loaded non-return valve (15), (16), (17) fills the space between the rib formed by the concentric grooves and the part (1), and maintains lubrication between the joint faces, while urging the rings against the internal faces of the cheeks (3) of the second part (2). The grooves are sealed by means of chevron seals which act on the side faces of the groove.
