Abstract

Prior to cold deformation, the surfaces of stainless steel workpieces, for example of wire, tube, bolts and screw nuts, are treated electrolytical in an acid phosphating soln., which contains a chelating cpd., the workpiece being made the cathode. The surface is pref. subsequently treated electrolessly in the same phosphating soln.
