Abstract

The first divider leg is pivoted tothe lower part of the door panel by means of a hinge and the second divider leg is correspondingly pivoted to the door frame. An arrester, which keeps the door open when the divider is in its maximum open position is achieved by extending the first leg past its centre pivot by providing a cranked section and terminating as a hook which deforms to grip the second divider leg. The second divider leg has a corresponding extension to likewise grip the first leg. The arrangement allows flanges in the vehicle door to clear the bodywork when open, and produce a flush joint when closed.
