Abstract

A device for indicating the dirtiness of a filter has a membrane moved against an adjustable spring by the press. difference across the filter and a means for indicating the position of the membrane. The impulse lines connecting the upstream and downstream sides of the filter with either side of the membrane are connected through a piston valve whose position is governed by the flow rate of water through the filter. The piston valve short circuits the impulse lines, equalising the pressures on either side of the diaphragm, when the flow rate is above or below the selected value.
