Abstract

The flow measurement procedure involves inserting a motorised volumetric pump (1) in the channel system in which the fluid to be measured flows, detecting the pressure difference in the channel on either side (11, 12), of the pump (1), adjusting the operating speed of the pump (1) in order to nullify the pressure difference, and measuring the final pump speed. The flowmeter comprises a volumetric gear-type pump (1) an electric motor (4), a differential pressure sensor (2) and associated circuitry. The pressure sensor may include a diaphragm carrying a metal plate at its centre, and two symmetrical sensors formed by oscillating circuits damped by the plate.
