Abstract

Anchoring tool in a pipeline for production or control equipment, comprising in known manner, (a) a locking skirt having an external groove limited at least downwardly by a frustro-conical surface which co-operates with a frustro-conical bearing surface cut on a series of equally spaced anchoring wedges, the right section of each of these having dimensions only a little below those of an equal number of windows cut out of a suspension fitting of the production or control appts., (b) an annular external shoulder on the suspension fitting, which rests on an annular seating part integral with the internal walls of a pipeline joint constituting the receiver for the apparatus and so ensures the locating of the anchoring tool, when the anchoring wedges are then opposite a cylindrical groove formed in the internal wall of the joint and bounded upwardly by a frustro conical surface cooperating with a frustro conical bearing surface cut on each of the series of anchoring wedges, but in which in novel fashion, (c) the locking skirt is connected to the suspension fitting by a section of left hand thread and carries means for connection to a device separately causing a traction motion of the locking skirt and a rotary motion in both directions.
