Abstract

1,270,718. Casting anchorages in concrete structures. C.C.L. SYSTEMS Ltd. 8 Oct., 1970 [16 Oct., 1969], No. 50977/69. Heading E1W. To prevent concrete entering an end anchorage device 1 in a post-tensioned concrete structure, the inner end of the bore 2 thereof is shaped to receive a flexible sealing ring 7 which has a peripheral rib 9 which engages an annular groove 5 around the bore. The ring 7, preferably of synthetic plastics, is preferably split, and is pushed into position using a tool with a channelled end 13 (Fig. 8). The ring 7 has longitudinally extending peripheral recesses 11 formed between the inner bore 8 and the outer surface by radially-extending webs 12, and one end of the bore 8 is shaped to conform to the cable periphery (Fig. 5, not shown).
