Abstract

An injection head comprises a duct leading from the injection moulding machine (plasticiser) and a cylindrical passage following this at an angle. This duct contains a mandrel or core and a tubular homogenising screw in the annular space around the mandrel; this screw has >=1 helical threads or strips, esp. one inside and one outside, so that it is rotationally driven by the flow matl. Abutments prevent axial escape of the screw. The device is used for making plastic tubes, tubular blanks for blow-moulding, for sheathing cables and making nets. The revolving tubular screw causes thorough mixing of the matl. after the variation in props. resulting from the change of direction in the head.
