Abstract

The holder (B) fits into the taper of the machine spindle (A) and has an inside taper for the shank of the cutting tool (E). A parallel circular section at the rear of the holder has a through hole and is threaded to receive a short bar (F), one end being screwed into the holder (B), the other into the tool shank (E). Thread pitches differ to give positive holding when tightened by a hexagon key in the end of the bar (F). The assembly is held in the spindle nose by a clamp ring (C); when tightened, pads bear against tapers on the holder face studs (D).
