Abstract

The machine has a concave blade (10) and a transverse 'U' tube (20) to detect deviation from the desired inclination w.r.t. the horizontal, detection in changes in liquid level being effected by photo-electric cells (28) and a lamp and level correction by electrically actuated hydraulic jacks. The blade (10) is suspended from the chassis (16) by hydraulic jacks (13, 14) and attached to the tube support beam (18) via pin (24) and inclination adjustment screw (26). Rise and fall of the liquid level blocks off the upper cell (28s) or exposes the lower cell (28i) to produce level correction signals for the jack (13).
