Abstract

The machine is particularly for handling voluminous material, the shredding mechanism being mounted on a frame with a feed above it. The feed mechanism is rotary, contained in the material reservoir (5) above the shredding mechanism (1), and it effects a preliminary distorting and shredding operation in the process of delivering to the latter. It can be in the form of a central shaft (7) in the reservoir, with driving lugs (8, 9, 10) mounted on its periphery, and typically in the form of radial arms with pendulums on them hanging down nearly to the flat bottom of the reservoir, also with plates fixed to the shaft and driving the material outwards, while other fingers, offset in relation to the pendulum ones, are fixed to the reservoir bottom.
