Abstract
1418333 Centrifugal juice extractor ROTEL AG 25 April 1973 [2 May 1972] 19618/73 Heading B1D [Also in Division A4] A centrifugal juice extractor comprises a casing, a perforated basket 5 rotatably mounted in the casing, means for rotating the basket, a grating disc 55 at the bottom of the basket and a feed tube 60 for feeding material to contact the grating 55 non-centrally, wherein the basket 5 is mounted so that it can be tilted while rotating. The drive means is a motor 4 whose drive shaft 40 is a loose fit in a socket 50 at the bottom of the grating disc 55. The clearance between the socket 50 and the shaft 40 is filled with a rubber composition 45. Alternatively, the ends of the socket 50 and/or the shaft 40 are made of hard rubber. In another modification the shaft 40 has a polygonal, e.g. hexagonal, cross-section and is a loose fit in a similar socket which is lined with rubber. A finger 7 depends from a cover 6 and has a boss 70 which bears on the grating disc 55 to prevent vertical displacement of the basket 5. A plunger 61 is used to push material towards the grating disc 55. The basket is rotated at about 2800 rpm.
