Abstract
The conduit removes the urine from the patient via the skin, and consists of a tube with silicon rubber surfaces enclosed near the upstream and downstream ends by sheaths of textile material. These cover at least 80% of its length, and the upstream end of the conduit is suitable for connection to an organ supplying the urine, while the downstream end forms a sealed joint where it passes through the skin. The latter end is joined by a sealed connector to a similar tube which has no sheath. The conduit, where used for cystostomy, can have the upstream sheathed end ending in a pad, while the downstream end of the non-sheathed tube can end in a plug.
