Abstract

Skin zone detector measures the conductivity of the skin to detect zones suitable for application of electrical stimuli for therapy and alleviation or abolition of pain. A first electrode and a counter-electrode are both connected to the output of a pulse generator of adjustable amplitude and a controllable constant voltage source. The counter-electrode contains a circuit with an apparent resistance corresp-to that of human skin. A second electrode is connected to the source via an indicator for the magnitude of the current flowing. Pref. the circuit consists of an RC-parallel arrangement. Typically the assembly is housed in a container and strapped to the wrist of the user.
