Abstract

The catch arrangement for a door has a leaf spring which acts as locking latch. This catch is readily fitted into a housing which is welded, before anticorrosion treatment, on the door. This assembly has relatively few components and it can be assembled by unskilled labour. The leaf spring has a bent and split end which contacts the fixed frame of the door. The leaf spring is held between the convex eccentric plate and transverse pins which are held on the housing walls. The leaf spring has a transverse slot through which passes the actuating pin. The eccentric is rotated by the plug. The anticorrosion coating is not destroyed on operating the lock.
