Abstract

The metal encapsulated, gas insulated switchgear has a moving contact pin or tube (21) whose lower end (22) slides inside the power circuit breaker (26). A disc (57) is attached around the moving contact pin and acts as an earthing contact by touching a ring (58) around the inside of the earthed, encapsulating housing. The contact on the bus bar side of the switchgear consists of a tulip-shaped piece (17) with an axial hole, through which the upper end of the moving contact pin passes. This upper end of the contact pin connects with an insulating rod that continues up, above the tulip contact around the pin end, and links with the operating mechanism.
