Abstract

A practice shell for gunfire during an exercise, where the contents of the casing must be kept to a given proportion, has a conventional nosepiece (6) and a priming charge and a fragmentation charge, and has a casing (1) at the rear which ensloses a blank charge in the form of a hard plastics foam body (3) with a hollow interior. This foam body may be formed inside the casing (1) or prefabricated so that it is a good fit inside the casing.
