Abstract

The tile is moulded from concrete, ceramic or a similar material. It consists of a top part (1) with a regular hexagonal prismatic shape, or other polygonal shape with an even number of sides. The top edge has a flat or curved chamber. The bottom half has projecting (4) and recessed (3) sides arranged alternately along a regular trapezoid perimeter. The projecting (4) parts form a top step (5) in relation to the corresponding flat side surface of the top part (1), whereas the recessed (3) parts form an inside step (6). These steps (5, 6) slope in a complementary way. The tiles are fitted together by the projecting parts (4) interlocking with the recessed (3) parts, thereby achieving great stability and flexibility.
