Abstract

A method and appts. for automatically skimming the dross from ingot moulds. The dross is lifted from the mould with two paddles pressed together to form a V shape. The paddles then separate and discharge the gross into bins. The novelty is that the process is completely automatic. Labour is saved in the casting of ingots.
