Abstract

The system for the continuous measurement of the density of a fluid circulating in a pipeline (5) comprises two hydrostatic sensors (1, 2) supplied by a neutral gas such as compressed air which flows through each sensor into the pipeline (5) via lateral orifices (3, 4) oriented in the direction (F) on the fluid current, each lateral orifice (3, 4) being positioned in the upper and lower neighbourhood of the interior walls of the pipeline respectively. The system comprises also a differential pressure-voltage transducer (32) whose inputs (29, 31) connected to the two hydrostatic sensors (1, 2) and which is connected to a digital voltmeter graduated so as to directly indicate density.
