Abstract
Primary heated fluid is supplied after passing through heat exchanger tubes subjected to the heat released by burning fuel in the boiler. A row burners are mounted in the base of the boiler, and there are two or more layers of finned tubes at the top, one above the other, parallel to the row of burners and bricked in in a staggered pattern. Thus the bottom layer is subjected to radiation from the burners and the top layer to convection by the fumes which have passed the bottom layer. Fluid enters the tubes via the top layer, and departs via the bottom layer. The boiler body is rectangular, the burners and the layer of tubes being mounted in drawers.
